Mining Grouping

Combination of Two or More Mining Concessions

It is the gathering, in a single mining unit, of two or more mining concessions of the same holder and of the same mineral substance, in areas of the same deposit or mineralized zone. Thus, the concessionaire of a Mining Grouping, at the discretion of the ANM, may concentrate the mining activities in one or some of the grouped concessions, provided that the intensity of the mining is compatible with the importance of the total reserve of the grouped deposits. It should be noted that the mining grouping does not unify the areas in a single mining process. This mechanism only brings together several different mining processes, in which the mining activity is done together.

The process is done through an electronic pre-application to the ANM. Public, private or mixed economy companies and non-profit private law entities that hold mining titles can apply for this service. An Integrated Economic Utilization Plan (PIAE) and a plan with the mining areas to be grouped must be submitted at the time of the mining grouping application protocol.

The mining of the mines can only begin after the ANM has authorized the mining grouping. The RAL – Mining Group’s Annual Mining Report must refer to the mining as a whole. The inclusion or exclusion of mining concession titles to the mining grouping implies its extinction. If there is interest, a new mining grouping must be constituted.
