Mineral Extraction Registration

Mineral Extraction for Non-Profit Public Agencies

What is it?

Extraction registration is a document provided by the National Mining Agency – ANM exclusively for public agencies (Union, States, Federal District, and Municipalities) that allows the extraction and use of mineral substances that have immediate use in civil construction.

The objective of this registration is to meet only and exclusively the demands of public works, and the sale or transfer of mineral assets to a private company or even the execution of mining by a third party is forbidden.

What substances are allowed?

The following are mineral substances considered to be of immediate use in civil construction:

  • sand, gravel and gravel when used in natura in civil construction and in the preparation of aggregates and mortars;
  • Siltic-clayey material, gravel and gravel used as loan material;
  • rocks, when prepared for paving stones, guides, gutters, grindstones or slabs for paving; and
  • rocks when crushed for immediate use in civil construction.

Special Features

The extraction registration is limited to a maximum area of 5ha. The term is determined by the ANM, limited to a maximum of 5 (five) years, with the possibility of extension for the same period only once.

The extraction register polygon can be delimited under an encumbered area (that already has a mining title), provided that the right holder authorizes the extraction by the public agency.

The extraction record statement will only be issued after the consent of the competent environmental agency.
