Continuing its presence at events across Australia, Ígnea took part in Brazil Mining Day in Sydney on October 26. The event took place at the Royal Automobile Club of Australia.
The opening brought together representatives of Austrade, the Agency for the Development and Innovation of the Brazilian Mining Sector (ADIMB), the Critical Minerals Association Brazil, the National Mining Agency (ANM), the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), and the Consulate General of Brazil in Sydney. According to ADIMB, the event brought together government representatives and mining sector players to discuss Brazil’s geological potential, investment opportunities, and the development of strategic partnerships in critical minerals.

Ígnea’s CEO, Giancarlo Silva, took part in the first panel, on the challenges and opportunities of Brazil’s mining sector, with a focus on critical minerals.
According to the program, the first panel was set to discuss Brazil’s strategic role in supplying critical minerals for the energy transition, regulatory developments and investment opportunities, and public policies to foster mineral exploration and mining development. The second panel would address Brazil’s geological potential for rare earths, lithium, graphite and other strategic minerals, opportunities to develop downstream industries and value chains, and geological knowledge and technological challenges. The third would present the perspective of Australian companies: why they are investing in Brazil, the opportunities and challenges for foreign investors, and lessons learned from operating in Brazil.

Taking part in these discussions, alongside companies and institutions from Australia and Brazil, is part of Ígnea’s work of closely following the mining sector.
