ANM is accepting proposals to simplify the granting processes for Mineral Extraction Registration.

The National Mining Agency (ANM) has opened space for contributions aimed at improving the grant procedures for Mineral Extraction Registration.

The revision of Resolution No. 1, of December 10, 2018, is on the agenda, and participation is open to all interested parties until May 3, 2024, through the PARTICIPA ANM platform.

The central objective of the initiative is to promote a significant review of grant processes, aiming to make them more efficient and agile.

Among the main proposed changes, the inclusion of new works in the Registration without the need to issue a new title stands out, thus simplifying the procedures for operators in the mineral sector.

Furthermore, there is a suggestion to extend the validity of the Registration as new public works are added, as well as to simplify the flow for the presentation of the necessary environmental licenses for the activity.

A prominent proposal is to replace the punishment of revocation of the registration with an alternative sanction, considering that the execution of works of collective interest may be compromised.

There is also a focus on correcting the text to ensure clarity, ensuring that the granted Extraction Registration in an encumbered area is issued and that its extinction does not result in the placing of the area in availability.

To contribute suggestions and observations, interested parties can access the ANM website until the established deadline.

This initiative is part of the project of Thematic Axis 3: Mineral Grant, of the Regulatory Agenda 2022/2024 of the ANM.
