The Bahia Mineral Research Company (CBPM) is moving forward with a bidding process for the mineral exploration of a limestone area in the municipality of Jacobina. During a meeting between CBPM President Henrique Carballal, Mayor Tiago Dias, State Deputy Júnior Muniz, local authorities, and CBPM directors, the feasibility of this partnership was discussed, with a special condition: the establishment of a cement industry in the municipality.
CBPM intends to conduct the bidding and seeks a partnership with a private company willing to exploit the local limestone, but only on the condition that the company commits to installing a cement industry in Jacobina.
This requirement aims to boost the region’s economic development and generate new employment opportunities for the community.
Mayor Tiago Dias expressed interest in enabling the municipality to assume the necessary responsibilities for the venture alongside CBPM. Among these responsibilities is the execution of infrastructure works for the installation of the cement industry.
A technical cooperation agreement will be signed between the municipality of Jacobina and CBPM, authorizing the procedure and allowing the municipality to closely monitor the entire process.
The signing of this technical cooperation agreement is an important milestone for Jacobina. We hope that everything proceeds swiftly so that, consequently, new employment opportunities are generated and an improvement in income distribution in the territory,” Carballal emphasized.
This partnership between CBPM and a private company for the mineral exploration of the limestone area in Jacobina has the potential to boost the local economy and strengthen the industrial sector in the region. It is expected that, in addition to job creation, the installation of the cement industry will bring benefits to the community, such as increased tax revenue and infrastructure development.
